The Process of Becoming: The Chrysilis

The Process of Becoming

The process of becoming is one of life’s most mysterious, humbling, and holy

rites. To bring a child into form, into breath, into being, remains one of the

most transformational, and magical, experiences in my life. Parenthood demands

us to witness the constant evolution of our children, and hopefully ourselves,

and a mother’s body and heart feel this evolution in a uniquely intimate way.

As a mother, I sense my children from the inside out. I feel their changes before they become fully visible; it is an inner knowing of their subtle shifts in spirit, body, and expression. Each phase arrives with its own sweetness, and ache. There is an extraordinary tenderness in celebrating who they are becoming while quietly grieving the younger versions of them, that now live only in memory. It is a holy work to hold both the sorrow of what has passed and the joy of what is emerging.

Recently, my beautiful young maiden turned twelve. She stands in that mystical

inbetween space, held within the chrysalis of becoming the next iteration of the young woman she is destined to be. I can feel the innocence that still lingers in

her, the part of her that grieves her own childlike self. And yet, woven

through that grief is an emerging embodied wisdom, a growing sense

of the form, voice, and presence she is stepping into.

Her story of coming into this world is its own powerful mythology, one I share

only in intimate, sacred moments. It was a path shaped by devotion, struggle,

loss, helplessness, and even rage. When she finally took form within my

body, I felt the deep and immediate completion of our family, a deep,

soul level knowing that she was always meant to be here.

Today, I am in awe of the light that continues to shine through her. She is a being

of compassion, creativity, humor, depth, and love. She carries a profound

reverence for the land, for the animals, and for her family. Watching her

step into this tender twelfth year, this year of becoming, reminds me

again and again of the sacred rhythm of transformation

that all parents are invited to witness.

We are always becoming. Our children are always becoming.. In the rare,

quiet spaces of motherhood, I am endlessly blessed to behold it.

There is one more truth this journey reveals. Many of us, as adult women, did not always have sacred spaces in which to grow, bloom, and flourish, myself included. Some of our own younger selves still carry unmet needs, unspoken griefs, stifled brilliance, or tender places longing for care. Sometimes the call of motherhood awakens the deeper call to tend to those parts of myself, to return and offer

the nourishment I did not receive, so that I too can emerge from

my own chrysalis with greater wholeness.

Sovereign Pearl 2026

This is the heart of Sovereign Pearl. It is a space devoted to the healing, remembering, and reawakening of the feminine soul. A place where women can return to the parts of themselves that still need care, presence, and love,

and step forward renewed into their next form of becoming.

If this speaks to something stirring within you, you are warmly invited into the next cycle of Sovereign Pearl, which begins in early March 2026.

Registration opens next week, and I would be honored to welcome you into this sacred space of remembrance and becoming.
